My name is Jeff Dixon, I am an IT consultant. I also used to be the national HR manager for the Guinness Trust so I know something about housing and I also know something about employment, I run my very own small consultancy business down here at the site of the Ford eco-town. I’ve read the planning statement and I don't accept that the DCLG has put sufficient work in to any kind of validation for the claims of the developers about the employment that they will be able to offer. It seems to me that their aspiration are going to be recorded. Your staff here have told me that it will end up being part of the planning process. The planning authority locally is only ever going to be able to give planning for or against building a business unit. There will be no enforcement of the claimed employment that is going to have claimed for these eco-towns. So what we'll end up with here in Ford is a whole town full of commuters. It really is unacceptable.
